Drawing Sets

Combine sheets from several drawings on a project into one ordered PDF, and issue it.

A Drawing Set is a named, ordered list of sheets from any drawings on one project. It exports as a single multi-page PDF, which you can issue and send.

Before you start

You need the Drawings module switched on, and at least one drawing on the project with a sheet in it: see Sheets, views and exporting a drawing to PDF.

Making a set

  1. Open the project and find Drawing sets. Choose New set and give it a name.
  2. Open the set. Under Sheets, choose a sheet from the list and press Add. The list covers every drawing on the project.
  3. Put them in page order. Drag a row by its handle, or use the up and down arrows. ✕ removes a sheet from the set.

Each page keeps its own sheet's paper size, title block and standards, so a set can span drawings that are set up differently. A set belongs to one project, and its members must be on that project.

If a drawing in a set is deleted, its sheets drop out of the set quietly. A set that has not been issued is working material, not a record.

You can Rename a set, and Archive it. An archived set can be restored.

Exporting

Export combined PDF builds the whole set as one document. Every sheet is checked first, and if any would not fit at its scale, nothing is exported, so you never get a half-built file. Fix the sheet, then try again.

Issuing

Issue on the set freezes the combined PDF as a record and lets you send it, using the recipient picker, links and one-time codes described in Sending a drawing. Shares shows past issues, their recipients and activity, and lets you revoke a link.

If any drawing has changed since the PDF was built, the issue is refused and you are asked to rebuild first, so you never send a set that is out of date.

What the recipient sees

The recipient opens one PDF with a small index above it, listing the sheets by drawing number and title. They cannot change it, and the content stays as issued.
