Projects, Contacts and Documents are always available. The rest are modules your practice switches on only if it uses them, so the rail shows just what you need.
Before you start
You need permission to edit practice settings. Without it, the module switches are visible but disabled.
Changing a module
- Open Settings, then the Modules tab.
- Choose the module from the row of sub-tabs.
- Tick or untick Enable … for this practice and press Save.
The setting is for the whole practice, not for you alone. Turning a module on adds it to the rail for every member whose role includes it.
The modules
- Engagement is how a job begins: the proposal you send a prospective client, the terms it is offered on, and their acceptance.
- Delivery is running a job once it is under way. It starts with recording time against a project or the practice itself.
- Drawings is the drawing studio. It is off by default. Projects, contacts and documents still work without it, and so does sharing a document.
- Specification is the practice's specification, built from the platform's library of notes. Practice owners, admins and anyone given the Specifier role can edit it. Other members can read it.
- Health and safety keeps the designer's records under CDM 2015: who holds which role on a project, and a register of design risks. It covers the pre-construction phase only.
What happens to existing work
Turning a module off removes its tools from the rail. It does not delete what you made. Drawings and shares already sent keep working for their recipients, and you can turn the module back on at any time.
If a module is missing from your rail
Two things hide it. Either the practice has not switched it on, or your role does not include it. Check Settings → Modules first, then ask whoever manages roles in your practice.
